how do they expect us to learn from careless teachers who don't show up
or from ignorant parents who haven't grown up yet
from ice cold streets that revel in blood
how do they expect us to think when they build boxes around our imaginations
shelter us from "taboo" cultures
dominate our world with what's right and wrong
while people have walked around with predjudice minds for so long
its become socially acceptable to be naive
then we scream 'PEACE NOT WAR!'
cry out rebel yells at the government
let our distress reverberate through the streets
blame others for our problems
displace our troubles on the third world
so we can create social pariahs out of teenagers
whose parents weren't socialized enough to teach them better
all the while we tell our children fame is the only way to be something
we don't consider the fact that its not the check size that gives us self-worth
its not material, narcissism, or muscle that makes us worthy to walk the planet
it is that person inside us that no one ever talks about
it's become this cycle of "socially acceptable" versus whether or not it's in the best interest of the people as a whole
its an endless cycle that has to be stopped
or we'll all be asking ourselves 'what happened?'
after we've blown each other to smithereens
because we had to see whose bomb was bigger
